If anyone in their travels happens to see a Direct TV dish laying out and about I am in need of one for a auxillary outside dish. I have the plans to make a small PVC stand but am in need of the dish. Just a simple ( yeah I know)18" single LNB dish is fine. So if you happen to see one in good shape while driving around please pick it up for me.
Thanks

Hello Mindcandies, I am a NorEaster that spends my winters in Fla so I am on the side reading the Boomers posts often. I have just what you are looking for. Just upgraded Direct TV to HD so the dish was changed. I could probably ship it to you if you can not get one. We will not be in Fla until New Years. Vet Man

Try hitting the Yard sales. We picked up two Direct antennas (never used) with 2 Dish Receivers for either $5 each or for both (faulty memory) at a moving sale.

We turned on Direct TV for the motorhome last month. When it went into storage I got the bright idea to put the recvr in the house and hook up a dish myself. Ordered an oval dish off ebay to get the latest/greatest... Spent 6 hours sunday trying to get a signal... Since its an older receiver it is only set for a round dish and I couldn't get 'tilt' settings. Finally called my son and we grabbed his round dish that he doesn't use. It took me all of 2 minutes to lock on and get a signal...
Since we never did the MH waiver we get the local channels. Next I have to hook up the other TV (too cheap to add another receiver at this point) and then I can kill off the cable.

I'm still trying to trouble shoot my dish. seems that I may have a problem between the disn and receiver. Portable dish will tell me if upper dish is not working and then I can start going through it item by item. Did get a trouble shooting manueel from Wineguard that should help me along.
