I just wanted to throw this out there for your consideration but I think we'll be on the South Carolina coast for the time being since we just bought a home here in Conway. Now if you folks would like to meet in Myrtle Beach next spring, I'm sure that given the amount of camping facilities here and due to the fact that I was the 2001 National Wagonmaster, I think I can make something happen.

It's all up to ya'll!

I don't believe it, A Connetticut Yankee in Conway ,S.C. well that will be great I'll be able to save some campin' money by layin' over a Driver's house. Now first thing is, you put in a pad and some utilities for us northern folk. Yo best watch Roxie, them southern folks eat little critters like squirrel and possum. No Offense intended..And best of luck with your new house.

Our side yard is 200 feet deep and no less than 40 feet wide so we should be able to handle a rally at my place. The property is all sand right now but as soon as the landscaping comes in ya'll will have to stay on the driveway.

I'm sure the neighbors won't mind.

I'm trying to figure this out but it looks like either the Nor'Easters are glad to get rid of me or the Dixie Region Folks don't want us.

3 to 1

Thanks for all your good wishes! We are very pleased to be able to settle into a country environment here in the Pee Dee. Right up the road about a mile or so it's all farm land. Were on Kates Bay Highway right outside on the Conway City Limits.

I do think we're gonna like it here, a lot. Colleen and I were looking over the house and outside of the back door the GC was simply going to pour a slab and that would have be that. We figured since we're getting a slab why not a screened in room? Good idea! 5Gs later it's in the making.

It's not just a matter of putting up a screen room but according to local codes the thing has to be rated for 120 MPH wind so they have to tie it in and make it part of the original structure. It'll be floor to about 7 foot high of screen and the balance of the exterior of the room has to be finished to match the exterior of the house. The room is going to be 12 x 14 so that should make for comfortable evenings under our outside rated 52" ceiling fan.

No doubt it's better to do it now rather than later. The GC said that the roof rafters are going to be made out of 2x6s. I do know one thing, I am one of 4 new homes on my street and I'm going to be the only one with a screen room. (& an RV pad for that matter)

There will be a nice aluminum screen strom door on the side of the room leading out to the RV pad.

Mike,

We'd love to have you and Colleen join us at the Appalachian Campers' Fall Rally being held in Whitier, NC on October 22-25. So far we have 8 rigs planning to attend and would love to add your name to the list.

Check out the link and let us know.

Hey Mike,
Now you know that once a Nor'Easter always a Nor'Easter!! Besides that is one of
the great things of haveing a house on wheels, home is where you hook-up!! Also if you have noticed on the bottom of all my post, I have both the Nor'Easters & Appalachian Campers logo's, and proud to be part of both groups !! Keep in touch friend!!

All are welcome just let me know when you're going to in our neighborhood.

I think Doc's got something going on for next spring but we can always get together down at the beach, "no problem".
