Fall Rally @ River Vista in Dillard, GA

Well guys, I may have stepped in it. What if you gave a party and on one came?
I spoke with River Vista in Dillard, Georgia this morning and the Fall Rally is booked for the weekend of October 8 (Thursday) thru October 12 (Monday) This will accomodate those who want to arrive early or those who want to stay late. We have a block of sites for our group and all we need to do is call and confirm. Mention the IRV2 group and get a discount.
This is a beautiful part of the country, with lots to see and do. Helen is just across the mountain for the tourists. Lake Burton is there as well with Moccasin Creek and the Ga Dept of Natural Resources Trout Hatchery that you can walk through and tour. Wild Cat Creek Road is just down the road from Moccasin Creek and the Appalachian Trail access.
Franklin, NC is just across the state line and with it, the gem mines and stores. Highlands, NC and some of the prettiest waterfalls in the area is just up the mountain along with Whiteside Mountain and the spectacular views. Falcons nest on the cliffs and can see seen soaring from the overlooks.
For those who like to eat, the famous Dillard House is just down the road. Even further down is Tallulah Gorge. Carl Wallenda walked a cable across the gorge several years ago. When you see the gorge, you will wonder at the skill necessary to accomplish such a feat.
We will have the pool and the heated pool for our use, as well as a dining hall and fireplace 'sitting and shooting the breeze area'.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again and hope you can make it. Make your reservations soon.
You guys from Florida - come on up and join us, we love the fun and stories ya'll always bring.

Doc,
Be sure to put a link to this thread over on the Florida Cooters site. We'll be at the balloon festival in early October, but other Cooters may be interested in a fall rally.

Doc,

The plans sound good, Sylvia and I are planning on coming. I set your post so you can edit it if you need. Also, I made this thread a 'sticky'.

Doc, I will call today to reserve our space.
For those who like an easy hike, Whiteside mountain is spectacular.
Furthur on up the road is Whitewater fall, the tallest falls in the eastern US. From the parking lot is a paved trail to the upper falls, beautiful views and wheel chair do-able. The drive up to Highlands, Cashiers and Whitewater falls is curvey but beautiful. I'll Have more as time goes by. any questions ask, we have lived up the mountain from the RV Park for 25 years.
Doc we will leand a hand in anyway you need.

Here is a link to their website for those who want it. http://www.rvmountainvillage.com/

I will check out Renna and my agenda, and see what we can do about getting down there. I know she will want to as the 8th is her birthday.
