Well the wife retires this June and we are going to spend next winter in Fla. Bad news is she wants to rent a place instead of living in the 5er for 3 months. She said 3 months in a 28.5 ft living space with me doesn't sound like fun LOL. Now to decide where on the west Coast and how to go about it is the next problem. Any suggestions??? All help appreciated.

One more thing the ideal situation for me anyway is to rent a place that I had space to park the RV. Then we could do a little exploration.

Hi, "Miles":

Where do you live now? We are going the opposite direction this summer, heading ultimately to Maine for 3 months stopping at sites along the way. We'll be on the road for 7 months and looking forward to it.

We live in a retirement community called The Villages and love it. Lots to see and do and places to shop. Plenty of rentals here, but you can't stow your RV on site. There are storage places around which run about $40 a month.

The Villages is located about 60 miles north of Orlando and 20 miles south of Ocala. You can read about it on www.thevillages.com.
Lots of other great places to hang out in Florida close to the beach too. We've only lived in FL for 6 years, so I can't speak to those locations, but am sure others will.

Congratulations on the upcoming retirement. We've been "there" 6 years this coming October. Can't believe how quickly the time has flown, but we highly recommend it!

Since you have a little time ... try the Pine Island / Fort Myers KOA .... You can rent a cabin, keep your RV there and explore a lot of the Florida West Coast ....

Thanks for the replies. Searching the net can take hours. There are some many locations. We live in Western Pa. Looking for a warmeer climate after the Xmas holidays. Finding a place to rent that is Pet friendly is also a challange. We have a 14lb 7 year old Poodle that is the wifes constant companion.
