We are looking at a lot " for sale " in Nature Coast Landings RV Resort in Crystal River Florida.

We're not Florida residents yet..... but would like to know if anyone has any knowledge on this resort or the area ??

Any input would be appreciated.....

Thanks .......and Happy Holidays.

We love the Crystal River area, have camped there several times and have reservations at Rock Crusher for a month Jan.-Feb.. You may want to check rvparkreviews.com ,Nature Coast got a couple of low ratings, well more than that if you check the older reviews! It seems like the renters aren't treated equal to the owners and there is some disrepair as well as rude residents. Good luck!

Dianne

There's a campground in Silver Springs ... called Wilderness Park Estates, it seems to get the lion's share of iRV2 member's attention.

We stayed in that area last winter. Athough we had a great time at Rock Crusher, it is in a state of transition. Do a search on this site for more info. The area has good places to eat and golf. Traffic did not seem to be a issue....... Hope this helps.

Rock Crusher was bought by Encore, but they didn't have any luck selling lots. They went bankrupt and it is now back in the hands of the original owner, which we were glad to hear. We really liked staying there in the past and expect it to be the same as before. As far as the one Driver mentioned in Silver Springs we have been there a couple of times to visit some of the northeastern group, its nice, clean and close to restaurants and shopping.

Hi diandtom,

Let us know when your down here so we can get togeather! Ya know how we like to get togeather with friends and share a good meal!!! Cody's still does 2 for 1 fijetas on Wed.

Hey Don-deb,

I am one of the 6 iRV2 NorEasters here at Wilderness RV Park in Silver Springs that Driver was talking about! And I just wanted to say there is a lot to do in this area! Winter concerts series at Silver Springs Park, A Play house just down the road, and I see that you have a Kayak. You can enter the river right from the campgorund here! Hope this helps some, best of luck where ever you end up! feel free to contact me if you have more questions!

We haven't heard anything negative about the park. We visited there one time a few years ago and didn't think it was particularly remarkable, though nothing really wrong with it either. Gary Burghoff (Radar from M*A*S*H) lived there (maybe still does) and was their spokesperson at local RV shows a while back.

I, personally, would not buy anything like this without first visiting it and the area. There are a few ownership parks either being converted or springing up new in the area. A visit to those would give you a value comparison.

We like this part of the state (it's called the Nature Coast for a reason), but if you're looking for big shopping malls and the giant mouse, this is not the place, though all of the preceding are within a two hour or less drive.

Just be sure to do your homework and make an informed decision.

Hi Dave (Half Dimes),

We were down in the Crystal River area back in November. We rode through most of the parks mentioned in this thread. We sure like the area. We stayed a week at a place called Lake Rouseau RV Park. That spelling is probably not correct. It was a rustic, designed for fishing campground. Nothing fancy, very good amenities and clean and neat. We loved it. We would be back there now if it were not full.

You have to go there. Crystal River is not really close to Silver Springs.

Also, Kayaking is great in central and northern FL. You must check the local laws about using the waterways. Something as simple as a kayak may require a registration.

The area around Silver Springs have some of the best cave diving in the world, if you ever get into SCUBA.

Hi Don-Deb,

I own a lot there at NCL. Have had it 3 years. Don't spend as much time there as I'd like to. It is a quiet, laid back easy going park. The ownership is decidedly older. Few children ever! It's packed all winter and abandoned all summer. They're building a new highway bridge right out front thats causing some headaches and it almost 10 miles to town/civilization but I personally like it. All in all I'd reccommend it.

Good Luck,

Ol'Joe

Ol' Joe.............Thanks for the post. Glad to hear that the resort is quiet.....thats what we are looking for. I seen the new bridge when I was down there in December........and it caused me to drive right past the entrance road......lol. I may have also seen your Phaeton when I was driving around the park checking things out. It has a similar paint scheme as mine ?

All is still moving forward....we plan to use it as our winter dig.....and travel during the summer also. We're looking forward to our new home .....and hope to meet you once we settle in.

This is our third year at NCL as renters and really enjoy the park. It is in a rural area but we enjoy the light traffic here. The park is well laid out with nice sites and very well maintained.
We have never had an issue with owners here and have been treated as well as anyone else in the park. There may be some perks for owners but that is why people want to buy here, I am quite sure you will enjoy it here.
