We live within sight of Stone Mountain, but have never camped there. We'll have to try it someday just to say "We did". We used to use their dump station, but haven't been in the park since Silver Dollar took over. We're getting ready for the Branson Rally and a home renovation, so we can't make it there yet. Hope you have a great time, and hope it gets a little cooler for you. Maybe just a little rain?

Hello Ken and Judy!

I like the campground at Stone Mountain. They have a lot of things to do, both organized by the CG, as well as the Park itself. Lots of things to do is a good thing when trying to entertain a 4 year old, 2 year old and 10 year old.

It gets pretty crowded on the weekends in the summer, but it is still pretty nice. It helps that we have the annual passes for parking and the Park, so it helps keep the cost down over several visits.

No fires allowed this weekend though due to the lack of rain. Ever had a microwave S'mores?

We have four little ones in wheel chairs, so we don't get around much unless there is a lot of activity close by. Most of our travel is to relatives, Dollywood, and Disney World. We have annual passes to Dollywood and Disney World, and a standing invitation to our daughter's back yard near Mobile.

We'll be attending our second irv2 annual rally next month in Branson. A good chance to get away for awhile and meet some mighty good people. I just hope it's not as hot as last year was in Sieverville.

Ever had microwave banana boats? The girls & I eat bananas by the pound (David complains because 10 pounds of bananas only last 2 to 3 days and he never gets one). The girls make them up in bowls. That way they can slice up 2 or 3 bananas per bowl!

BTW, I heard on the Weather Channel today that Stone Mountain will not be having Fireworks for the 4th this year due to the drought.

I've also heard on the news that much of the Fireworks in the South will be cancelled except for the displays that are done over water. Maybe it will rain before the 4th.
