We stay at the State Park in AL very nice, in our Phaton. Across the street from the ocean nice shopping not to far. Love the senior lunch at Jakes.

Your first post! Welcome to iRV2!

What is the name of the park that you're referring to?

I agree that Jekyll Island is a great place to explore though.
Just stayed at Blythe Island Regional for Thanksgiving, it was great. An added bonus were the log-eared rabbits that roam freely. If you feed them they will be your new best friend for an hour or three. Thanks for all the suggestions as I'll look forward to the next trip.

I would like to suggest a lot of sites around the Tampa Bay area. I am located in Tarpon Springs and there are some nice RV parks right on Lake Tarpon which is very pretty. Of course Clearwater Beach is nearby too but I don't know of any RV parks there although I am sure there must be some nice ones nearby. North of me is New Port Richey, Port Richey and Hudson FL to name a few and all these places have some nice RV parks. Go near Homosassa and visit the mermaids in Weeki Wachee. So many places and so little time.

Georgia Veterans State Park is nice. Family may enjoy an excursion on the Shortline Railraod. Stops right at the park with day trip through local Georgia area. (Jimmy Carter country) Link to the Railroad is at the Park website..Georgia Veterans State Park

Wardy, 1st of August we are headed to Navarre, Florida right outside of Pensacola, our first trip there. My RV buddies who make that trip often told me the place they use is Emerald RV Park, where we have made our reservations. Planning on visiting the Air Musem there, at the home of the Blue Angels and do a little fishing.

If you go to Alabama, a good place is Cheaha State Park. It's on the highest mt in Al.

Florence Marina State Park is near Eufaula, Ala and Columbus, Georgia. They have full hook-ups, boat rental, and putt-putt golf. At Columbus is the Infantry Museum at Fort Benning and Providence Canyon is less that 10 miles from the park.
