Hello everyone!

I just wanted to extend the offer again, that if someone needs to evacuate from the coastal areas, I have space for an RV with full hookups (30amp, sewer, water, WI-FI) at my house NE of Atlanta, GA. I have room for a few others if need be, but they would have to boondock, or plug into the regular power outlets.

Feel free to contact me if you need a place to hide out.

Thanks for the offer, but we usually ride the hurricanes out here in eastern NC. I know a guy that leaves everytime one get near. He went to western NC and that where the hurricane went. We had a little rain but nothing else. He was stuck in a motel.
Hanna does not have me worried but IKE does. It is already a much stronger storm.

Just what we need on the coast, two more problems.I guess tomorrow will be take care of the boats, and then the MILLION PLANTS from the porch to the garage and then back again.
Then to top everything off, Wilmington is the test area for the US for the new digital TV system. It happens on Monday the 8th for us. Glad I have cable and sat TV.

Well, wish us luck! The Cape Fear River is well known for drawing the storms, why stop now.

We put everything away yesterday. I looks like it could rain any minuite. We have been very dry this summer. I think the weatherman said we were twelve inches behind for the year, but don't neeed to catch up in the next couple days I am on some of the higher ground in Pamlico County 13 feet above sea level.

Tom,

Y'all stay safe down there. If you need to head out we can put you up here for a few days. 13' isn't very much above sea level for a storm like that. We're about 3,000 feet so I doubt the water would ever get any deeper than that.

Thanks Richard,
We never flooded out where I live, but some a few miles away have. The river here is over two miles wide and does not get that high. Up stream is where the trouble is. Hurricare Dennis had us cut off for about two weeks as it stayed over us for a week. I had a friend that went to Rocky Mount to get away from it and he lives on the water. It was almost two weeks before he could get back home.

It's headed your way. I have seen winter storms pack more punch than this. Rainfall is at a minimum at the coast. My rain gauge shows about 1-3/4 total for this storm. Looks like it is starting to clear, as I see lighter skies to the south.

Hanna is going more up through the center of the state. Here in the coastal area we had a lot of rain yesterday afternoon but none today just a little wind, blew a few limbs off,a ficus tree and plant over in the screen room. The power is flickering so better hurry and finish this before it goes out again!

Hi All,

Hey diandtom,

A bit of rain, some wind and short power outages is something we can all deal with! I hope that is the worst of it for you and others!

Our power went out for less than a minuite. We got one and half inches of rain. We need a lot more rain, but don't need hurricane IKE..I think Hanna was worse for people north of us.

High ground in Pamlico County!!! Where is that at??? If you dig a hole in Pamlico County, the Atlantic Ocean squirts out. Glad to see you all weathered the storm with no troubles. All we got was rain and a little wind also. And plenty of yard work picking up all the junk from the trees.

Steve, You must be thinking of somewhere else. There are some places that flood here, but at 13 feet we are high and dry. Been here 33 years and never flooded. We were high and dry when Hurricane Dennis hit. Rocky Mount,Greenville and Kinston flooded but we did not. Come on down sometime Steve and we show you around. I still have the fire ring from the rally we had here. Put you out a picnick table and let you camp.
Be glad to have you down if hurricane Ike hits here as we need someone to look after the place.

Tom
