We are in Crossville, Tn. With one of our Air Conditioners out. I am just glad we got two. We are going to stay here until it fixed. The AC is six months old and a call to Camping World in Nashville they want to replace it at my expense. It seems they don't work on Carrier AC. I got a service tech coming tonight and hope he can fix it. We are on our way to the National IRV2 rally in Williams, AZ. We started a little early, but hate spending days here. I just hope it ends better than it started.

I hope you get your a/c fixed & then have a safe travel to the Rally. I sure feel for ya. The CG we were at this past wknd had electrical supply issues & we were able to run only 1 a/c on low during the day to keep from blowing service in our row. The row beside us lost power at least 2x that wknd. 85-degrees inside a coach is pretty hot, but at least it was less humid than the 95-degree temps outside the coach!

I guess I should be happy. The traffic so far has been good and no tire problems or truck problems. I was just hoping to be farther west than we now are by now. Also if we had our old fiver we would be miserable as it had only one AC.

Diandtom,
Don't know where in Crossville you are, but there is a wonderful PassportAmerica CG called Deer Run RV Resort. It is 5 miles off the beaten path of I-40 and we really enjoyed staying there. That is just in case you are there for more time than you figured. Very quiet.

I spent $255 today to find out it can't be fixed. I am in a nice campround in Crossville. My problem now is Carrier no longer makes RV AC. The service tech is going to try to find me one tomorrow. The money I spent will take care of him coming back and putting a new one in. I hope I can get my money back from Carrier or Carriage as it under warranty.

We are getting a new AC Monday in Little Rock, Ar. so we should be on our way after they exchange it. His has really hurt us as we wanted to see a few things along the way. If it not been for Carriage I would still be looking for a Carrier service center. The guy I talked with would offer no help in telling me where to find it. Carrier no longer makes AC for RVs and the calls I made they did not want to replace it. Little Rock is 450 miles from where I am now. This AC had 9 days of use before it died. I just glad we got two AC s

Sorry to hear of your troubles. News to me about Carrier, do not remember seeing anything about them going out of the RV business.

Hopefully you will get repairs in Little Rock.

Will Carriage replace the Carrier or another manufacturer??

Carrier is replacing it with a Carrier and are suppose to give us a refund on the $255 diagnostic fee. The service tech called Carrier with all the test he ran and we have the reciept. Thank goodness we have two air conditioners!! With the bedroom unit,a couple of fans and keeping the blinds shut against the sun it hasn't been too bad.

It would have been neat to camp on the side of the Mississippi in Memphis, but get on over to Little Rock and get that A/C replaced. You may need it crossing those deserts before you get to the Canyon.
Good Luck and hope it goes fast and easy for you.
Like Ms Carol says, "it's just another adventure".

I hope you have gotten the AC unit replaced and you are on your way.

Doc

we stayed at the Tom Sawyer CG in West Memphis, AK. It is right on the river and they have benches set along the river to watch the barges and pushers come up and down the river.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and while setting up we heard a tug on the river. We rushed to see it. Little did we know that they run continually and we saw all types, sizes, products, gasses, fuels.

If you are heading to the area contact them and stay a few days.

We had a 1 o'clock appointment Monday, got the air conditoner replaced and was back on the road a little after 3. We didn't drive too far, stopped at Spadra a nice Corp of Engineer park at Clarksville,Ar. $8 a night. We are now in Elk CIty,Ok and plan to drive to Albuquerque,NM tomorrow where we'll spend a couple of nights.Just wish the heat would break saw 99 today, it never did get to 100 but felt much hotter.

Doc instead of staying at Tom Sawyer we made a detour and spent the night at the Hollywood casino campground in Tunica,Ms. Last time we tried to stay at Tom Sawyer they had a lot of rain and the campground flooded,so never did make it.
