You guys at Mayberry remember the problem we had with the electric on the coach when we were there for the rally in November? It would not acknowledge that it was plugged in to the post. We left early that AM and dropped the coach off at the dealer near Dillon, south of Spartanburg. There was a number of little warranty issues that we left on a list with them. Well finally they called us this afternoon and said the coach was repaired and ready to go. We hot footed it up to Carolina and picked it up. It turns out the reason the electric was charging the batteries is there is a 30 amp bus type fuse (bolts in line) that had blown and we had been running off the batteries for some time that day. We had a small electric heater, a toster and a coffee pot running and threw a breaker in the panel. I suspect the inverter was running and pulling the power trying to run them and needed more than it could handle. This is just my idea and I am limited on this sort of inverter/convert stuff. The tech who fixed it said he found nothing to cause the blow but that anything like a spike might have caused it. Whatever it was, we will use it pretty hard between now and March when the warranty expires.
Batteries checked out OK, said he charged them and load tested them.
We did get a new radio/DVD/rearview camera/navigation system out of the deal. This is a Jensen system and is complicated as chinese algebra. The surround sound could not be turned down. When you would lower the volume, it would get to a point and then just blast you out of the seat. The factory told them to replace the whole thing.
So again, my thanks to those who helped us that interesting night. Hope to see you all in April.

Doc, I am glad you got it fixed and I hope that is your last trouble with the coach. I bet you will remember where the fuse is. I have been back to the factory three times and that is no fun.

Hi All,

Hey Doc,
Glad things worked out and you will be back to enjoying your coach and the RV lifestyle! It was nice to meet You, MS Carol and all the other folks I had not camped with before, but hope to camp with again!!

Now as for me I have been enjoying FL and think I have a good grip on the FL Christmas & Jimmy Buffett Lifestyle !!

Hi Everyone,
We hope everyone will have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Years.
Doc, Glad to hear that there was nothing major wrong with your Coach. The fuses can be replaced if they can be found. I don't know where half of mine are.
Al, could you learn me how to live the Jimmy Buffett life style? I would like to have about a week of leasons, have fun.
Jim & Sandy

Spent the day cleaning and vacuuming the floor, washing and cleaning the fridge (not a good idea to leave one closed up w/o washing it out first)
The tech told me that fuse cost about $68 !! Don't need to pop many of those things. I guess I will order one just in case...

Ms C says I can't go camping until after Christmas so if I want to give this thing a test, looks like I have to do it in the yard beside the RV shed. She has not said 'no' to Florida or Gulf Coast between Christmas and New Years so maybe I can find Al and we get 'wasted away again in Margaritaville'. Al is that alligator your name sake? i.e. "Al"igator.

By the way gang, have had two different folks want to come to the next PigQ in Mayberry. The power of the photograph!! (or is it Al in the coonskin cap )

That sounds like a plan!! Ms C is usually ready for some time away after the first of year. Al might have a plan! We know very little about Florida RV parks except Bulow and Flagler.

*we do know not to bother with 'Roland Martin's RV Park' in Clewiston on Okeechobee. *

We regret missing the Mayberry get-together. Were on an extended trip out west. Sure hope to make the next one. Going to Avon Park FL, just north of Sebring, for 3 months, leaving NC around Dec 29. Anyone else headed to that area of FL in this time frame?
