Why do they need to know who our last husband/wife address was?
Isn't there water, sewer & elect? I know there used to be in the camping area on the south side.

Derek,

I think that the last husband/wife address is on a need to know basis...and I don't need to know that any more!

When we attended the Good Sam Safety Rally at the Fairgrounds, they told us the sites with sewer, water and electric on the south side were reserved for vendors.

We've never dry camped before, but have to start somewhere, so why not..

Thought I'd bring this back up to the top so everyone can put there $.02 in. I Think it's ok staying at the fairgrounds. Southern Aire didn't really seem that thrilled about having us and I thought the site I had was pretty lame. Dry camping isn't bad, we will have electric.

Larry and I are willing to give it a try, too. It's time we started developing stronger boondocking skills and what a better place to try it than among a group of friends where we can share tips and help each other out. Does anyone know if they have a bath house with showers? I can fill our grey water tank in no time if I'm not careful.

Cheru if you went a little faster cleaning them dishes you wouldn't fill that grey tank.
Don't you have 75gal holding tanks? With a dipper coming around every day or two I wouldn't think there would be a problem. I would be more concerned about the quality of the electric service, that there is no outages during the hot days causing "hotdogs" (can U say dog-b-Q).

CH,

Can't Lucy and Lola help with cleaning up those dishes? It doesn't seem that it would take that much water after they finished. I'm sure RO could train them to do the dishes.

Cheru,
Can U say CASH.
As far as dependability of electricity..... when we camped there in previous years in the vendor camping area there was one year that we had no power for a few hours. But then again IF you have the auto transfer switch & genny start U should have no problem as genny should start & a/c should continue if power goes off. Don't you know if you have this???? It's your coach, don't you know what U bought? I would have thought this would have been a must with the flea catchers. Don't worry, your at LD & Camping World. Camping world sells Auto transfer/start system for genny I belive they run about $1200.00 per there web site plus installation but Ro should be able to install it.

You all are really going to amaze the Northerners who lurk on this thread by worrying about air conditioning in January!

Derek, do you know that they do provide dipper service??

To clear up some confusion - on the form it is name - last, husband(first name), wife (first name) not where you lived prior.
30 amp is provided, no water or sewer, but they do have a honey dipper that works well - youjust need to give notice.30 amp is all you need - typically, you need more heat (make sure you have propane) as every year we have gone (every year since 1998) it has been chilly. We have never thought about AC.
If you want to really see the RV show, staying at the fairgrounds is the only way to go - you come and go as you wish, there are trams that get you from the RV parking areas to the show, and you have timeto seeeverythingwithout having to drive and park every day.
Just my .02.

Steve

Good Morning everyone....

Barb & I have stayed at the Fairgrounds three time now and once at So Aire. To tell you the truth, we perfer the Fairgrounds. It is great to come and go as needed using the trams. We have not had any problem with the electric provided. Only need to have water & propane tank filled and waste water tanks empty. GI showers are the order of the day.

We are planning to attend the show as well. If we are going to all try to camp close to each other, I think we have to go in together. Thus requiring someplace to stage ahead of time.

I check the board every chance we get and have a Wifi connection. We are currently working our way back south and are spending the weekend in Prince George BC. We will be heading towards Columbia River & Mt St Helens before we begin turning east.

Take care and be safe......

PS: I just noticed that Derek and Audi have joined the DP family. Congrats!
