All you guys in the area. We are leaving in the next few minutes for N Ga mtns. Going to be at River Vista near Dillard for a few days then moving north someplace in NC mtns. (not sure yet, just going to look, ride and stop if it looks good) Suggestions in that regard appreciated.
So if you are near Dillard or Clayton, stop by and have a snack or cold drink and sit for a spell.

We are here! This place has WiFi and we are getting a good signal. Heat is the reason we headed out for a while. With the afternoon/evening rains we are getting, the humidity is getting sorta rough. We are near Highlands and the air falling off the mountain is cool in the afternoon.
We are looking forward to Mayberry for sure. Trying to get Dee off the dime but she has sort of lost interest in the RV.
You guys try to stay cool.
doc and Ms Carol

Oh by the way, this would be a great place to have a rally. Stay three, get the fourth day free. Ole doc likes deals!!

Hi Doc
We just got back from Marion NC, in the mountains. We were going to go the the Gospal signing at ToM Johnson, we did not have reservations and they were full(we had a little work done on the RV) we left there Thursday & went to Stone Mt. state park in NC mountains. Nice campsights paved where you park and big sights.
No TV or phone service, got cool at night and built a little fire thursday night. Back home now and wanting to go again

Hi Jim and Sandy,

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Stone Mt SP, I've never been there. Do they have any hookups?

Hi Richard,
Yes they have 50 amp & water, no sewer, dump on the way out, very nice park the camping area we stayed in it does not look like a state park, a lot of the large RV sights does not have any trees to get in the way when parking. They do have smaller sights up in the wooded area for smaller campers. Nice bath houses

Sounds nice, we had previously ruled it out as a potential camping spot because we thought it had no hookups. The Stone Mountain website says "no utility hookups", can't believe all that you read.

quote:

Camping:
Family camping: Just past the park office, a turnoff leads to the family campground where campsites for tents and recreational vehicles are located on two loop roads. Each site has a tent pad, table and grill. Drinking water and a washhouse with hot showers and laundry tubs are located nearby. There are no utility hookups, but a dump station for use by registered RV campers is adjacent to the campground. The campground is open year round.

Hi Richard,
I also looked at their web sight, looks like it has not been updated after all the new sights have been added. I looked on the map and it is not far from yall go over and check it out. It might be a good place for a rally?

Yes, it might be a good place to hold one. But their website said it's first come, first serve which would make it tough to plan a rally. Would be a bummer if it were full.
