I just checked into the information for a rally at Lion Country Safari and it just found out that they have no sites for rigs over 35'. So it looks like that would eliminate about half of us. Is there interest in doing something in early May down this way??? If so I will check out something else.

Wait a minute- we've camped there several times with 35, 38, and 40 ft rv's. Whoever you talked with does not know what they are talking about.

As a matter of fact, on one of our outings there, I saw a 45 Prevo in the back.

I would like to get something organized there since it is only 45 minutes up the road from us!

Once you camp there, you are on their mailing list and I just received their flyer. They always have an off season (April 1 to Nov1) special that gives you two days camping that includes free entry into the "jungle" to see the animals (up to 4 people). I'll hunt up the flyer to find out the cost and updated this post.

Bill & Jan, Terry & Linda,

We would probably be interested in something down that way.

OK, found the flyer. The costs are $79.95 for two nights or 99.95 for 3 nights for full hookups, up to 4 people in your party, plus free entry tickets to Lion Country Safari for 2 visits. So if one trip thru the animal park is not enough, you can go a second time.

I also checked their KOA website and found that they list 40 footers as the max length.

I called Lion Country again and the person said there was no problem with 40' RV's. I am waiting on the group sales person to call me back. I am looking at the weekend of May 5,6,7 since Tropical Palms is off -- How does that look?????

OK here is the scoop!! Talked to Pam at Lion Country -- you need to have 10 rigs to get a rally rate -- she suggested that we use the coupon that is available on line which includes admission to the park for four for two days and just give them our group name. They would then put us close together. Whatcha think???

Jan,

It looks like you have 6 already, so it shouldn't be hard to get the other 4. I'd say go ahead with it.

Is the group rate less than the rates on the coupon?

Anyhow, count us in!

Our cats love to hear the roaring of the lions! They walk a little taller after the first roar.
