Yes, the State Park in Gulf Shores is a nice place. Better call ahead for reservations as many of our snow bird friends winter over down here to get away from the brutal conditions they have been experiencing up north.
About 25 miles from Gulf Shores, on the outskirts of Pensacola,Fl is Big Lagoon State Park. Another good place to stay. Very close by is the Naval Air Station with the museum, Fort Barrancas, and the light house. You might check it out.
McKinney SP near Austin, Tx, was a good quiet stay. Was just a handful of campers when I was there. The showers were clean, and the Falls were interesting. There was plenty of deer feedong around the park also. The park is just a few miles from Austin, so can go into town easily.
Would like to mention Fort Pickens State Park, in Gulf Breeze, just across the bay from Pensacola. It is a good stay. Plenty to see-the Fort, Batterys, trails, etc. Hope this helps.
There are some rv parks, some are very exclusive, if you want more info on rv parks, let me know and I will name a few.
