You did good Victrola til you got to the fried okra. But then I never was an okra fan. Mashed taters would be ok. Sounds like it may be a Southern New Years........ Maybe we should cook a meat up and not tell what it is. Nothing too exotic like armadillo or possum(?)

Miss Vecky,
All this talk about good ol' down home cookin is working my saliva glands overtime. Don't forget to bring the pickled pepper sauce for those greens, plus some ???? relish for the peas. I'm drooling so badly, I may have to run down to Cracker Barrel for some simulated Southern cookin'.

And Lou, you're right... forget about the chittlin'

Mary:

I didn't know that mac and cheese was a southern vegetable. You mean I've been eating healthy all of these years and didn't know it?

Hold the "chitlins" from my plate too.

Jan, bring on the saurkraut. As a matter of fact, we just had it yesterday along with some Kielbasa. One of Ron's favorites and mine too!

Hey, Vectrola:

Even I love blackeyed peas and not just for New Years. Do you put vinegar on yours like War Eagle does?
