Florida Boomers, Greetings.
The Administration and majority of Moderators have determined that integrating the State of Florida into a Regional Group will shortly occur.
This group will become a component of the Dixie Region in the not too distant future.
You are not alone in this effort and we will be cutting back on other Regions that are currently supported by integrating those Regions into more cohesive groups.
iRV2 is all about inclusion and having any one particular state or group within the state as its own Region is not sustainable in our current model and plans for iRV2.
Rather than make the change without announcement it would not be fair, so notice is given that the change will occur in the not to distant future.
None of the Florida content will be lost since it will all be incorporated into the Dixie Region in its entirety.
Thank you for being loyal iRV2 members and we look forward to your continued participation in the Dixie Region.

Now wait a minute. Of prime importance here is the matter of mascots. Either the Florida flamingo is going to grow antlers or the Dixie group is going to have to put up with a pink deer.
Other than that, I see no problem since we've been going to each other's rallies for a couple of years anyway.

Hi Dave,
Actually, the deer is the mascot for the Appalachian Campers while the Florida Flamingo is the mascot of the Florida Boomers. The way I understand the impending consolidation, both groups will still exist as before but will post in one forum, which is the Dixie Region forum.
We already have another Region with two camping groups in it. The Texas Boomers and the Oklahoma Boomers are both in the South Central Region.
There shouldn't be any need for pink deer or flamingos with antlers, just two groups in one region, each with unique mascots.
Are y'all are back from your Alaska trip yet? Maybe you can make it up to the next Appalachian Campers camp-out in Unicoi, TN in September?

Yeah, I know. But there is a deer on the Dixie Region page. I was just trying to annoy someone. Did it work? Anyway, I still like the idea of a ... umm ... deeringo?

Nope, we're hanging out in Dawson City, Yukon for an extra day just to rest and watch the grass grow. Did the Top of the World Highway yesterday. Great scenery. Road wasn't as bad as we expected. Beginning our travel southward now but taking our time though. Would like to get to Unicoi, but don't know yet. Richard,
I guess you will have to have two mascots on the Dixie page. Right now the Deer is there, but when you shift the Florida group to the Dixie region, you'll also have to add the mascot to the page header so that both the deer and flamigo will appear on the page header. Good Luck.

Personally, I think both mascots should be up there.
I went over to the Florida Region Forum to copy the URL of the one you supposedly already have and apparently it has been taken by the flamingo gods and only shows up as a red X.
I think it was lost when the photo albums crashed a while back and no one has fixed it. If one of the FL Boomers would upload a suitable mascot into our photo albums and/or post a link to any existing one that y'all want to use, I'll be happy to wave my magic 'moderator' wand and fix that red x and also paste it to the Dixie Region Forum.

I hope the Dixie region members are ready for all the posting traffic from the Florida members. We do not want to be viewed as taking over or dominating the board, but I do feel that is what will occure. Not by design, but just a matter of course.

I think the Dixie forum is going to be in for a rude awaking. I just look and there last post was on May 21st, and the one before that was May 16th, this is almost the end of July. I guess they don't do much camping up this way. Can't wait for the move. See you on the Dixie forum "Boomers".

Jim,
Did you see this thread? (Last post was July 11.)
Look at this one too if you get time.
The folks in the Dixie Region are looking forward to the added activity the members from the Florida Region will bring. And, we'd love to have y'all join us in the two regional Appalachian Campers' rallies that are currently being planned. We welcome you and are glad you're coming to our forum.

Sorry Richard, I'll conceed, yes there was a posting on 7/11. I didn't look at it as it had bold type and I just went over it and I did see the one for 6/29 also. You know these old eyes, don't see everything clearly only some things.
I think maybe Ron & Cheri may have the logo some where. I don't remember who made it. I did have a copy but the hard drive on the laptop crashed and I lost a lot of stuff. Later

Well sorry to see our site disappear--I think it will be harder for us to easily locate our topics amidst the Dixie Region. Ok Boomers--lets put our thinking caps on and see what else we can come up with. I have to agree with Renagade--some of the other sites don't have any postings while we continue to do lots.

Richard if you need another logo image let me know as I am the one who created all of these, including the Texas and OK ones, and the animated OHIO pond puppy .... Have them somewhere on CD

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the offer, if you'll send me the Florida Boomers' mascot logo I'll be happy to restore it to the site.
