Dear Friends and BOOMER Family:

Ralph asked me to post the following information on Janice. As many of you know, she has been experiencing a great deal of abdominal pain - diverticulitis being the source. It has been going on for quite sometime, but has been occuring more frequently as of late.

On Monday, Janice and Ralph were on their way to the shop, when Janice began to experience severe abdominal pain again. They called her doctor who had her admitted to the hospital.

I spoke with Ralph a few minutes ago at the hospital, and they had just taken Janice to have a feeding tube inserted. She hasn't been eating well because of all the pain, and the feeding tube will keep her hydrated as well as nourished.

There is no definite surgery date yet, but it will probably be one day next week. Jan told me last week, that they prefer not to do surgery in the midst of a diverticulitis episode so hopefully this time in the hospital will stabalize her condition enough to be able to proceed with the surgery.

Ralph is exhausted and is still undergoing various treatments of his own. Of course he is so concerned about Janice. Janice on the other hand is concerned about him and about the fact that she has not gotten all of her Christmas shopping done.

They both know that they are covered in your prayers, love and thoughts and thank you.

Janice & Ralph,

Jo Ann and I are thinking of you. Hope everything goes well. Jo Ann has a similar problem and had surgery for it some years ago. She understands what Janice is going through.
