Richard, how hot did it get by you today and would you know if the Unicoi area would be similar? We are 79 here and want to see if there is any other area without the 'climb'that stays cool. (the type of climb that we have)

I think it hit 85 here today, it sure felt hot.

I had to get "Sportsman" from the hospital today, he had been camping at a Forestry Service and was on his way to keep a Dr. appointment this morning and blacked out. His truck left the road, hit a utility pole, some mailboxes, and rolled over. Rescue people cut his roof off to get home and his wife out.

I took them home from hospital and fetched his rig from the campground and took it home. Truck is a total loss, there's not a place on it that isn't bent except for the hood. All the glass is gone, drive shaft up in the bed, doors won't close, etc.

He and Barb are OK, lucky to be alive. He has a broken rib and is sore as heck, she was just bumped up a little. For anyone wanting to call him his number is 828-688-1372.

Tough choice....The GMC would have a few more bells and whistles and nicer appointments...

I'm still testing the waters for a Chevy Silverado and trading my Trailblazer....waiting for the flood waters of the B-B-T to recede...

Would love to have that golf cart in the bed....

OMG !!! I am glad they were not seriously hurt, that will be tough for his insurance premiums
I guess if they had all that damage and came away with minor injuries, that speaks pretty well for that truck. A broken rib can be darn painful.
Thanks for letting us know Richard.

So glad Al is ok, he was very nice to Bill and I as newcomers in TN last week. However I will let Bill know that is NOT the way to get a new truck.

Colette & Joe,79 sounds wonderful, now where is it that you live and do you have room for us? Lol Tom cut grass tonight by the light of the headlights on the riding lawn mower,at 99 its just to hot to do outside chores in that heat!
Richard, did Alvin & Barb have the dog with them? I hope not as he isn't as hard headed as they are and would probably have really been hurt. Its amaziing they weren't hurt any worse than they were in that crash, they were surely being watched out for!

Dianne,

Their dog came up missing several weeks ago just before the National Rally. That's one reason Barb didn't attend, she was still grieving over its loss and hopeful it'd return.

We are just up the mountain from Whittier, another 30 miles of **** driving. But we do have another hook up if you can get in our drive, come on up. It is only about a 10 hr drive for you, me thinks
