I-26 through Howard Gap is 6% for three miles with two four degree curves, this section of I-26 is several miles from Saluda. The mountain you're on is Miller Mountain. You will also have another climb about eight miles later after crossing the Green River bridge which is close to 7% for less than a mile with several four degree curves.

There's a nine-mile six-lane freeway from Mars Hill, NC to the North Carolina state line at Sam's Gap. I-26 rises to 4,000 feet above sea level on its course to the Tennessee state line and has no more than a six percent grade. It's a very scenic drive, much more to see than going up I-75.

I am driving a 40 ' Windsor with a 350 cummins - new to this MH but not new to MH driving. would be daylight driving and do not mind a slow climb it that is what it takes.
guessed that 75 thru Chatanooga etc would be flatter (and booring)
