I signed up for a couple groups but what exactly does this get me besides a listing of the groups under my name???
Does this get me an instant email when a new post is posted to that group???

Tom,
Unfortunately joining a group doesn't get you the notifications, it's still necessary to use the Forum Tools to set up such a notification. You'll also need to set your User CP to the type of notifications you desire. See you in Mayberry!
