Tentative schedule for the Spring Appalachian Campers' Rally to be held at Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain, GA (just outside Atlanta) April 14 through 17. We need a count of how many people will be attending by Wednesday 1/19 to reserve the appropriate number of spots. I will then post a phone number and reference number so you can make your individual reservation. Rates are $32 per night for full hook up with a one time park entrance fee of $8. We are looking at either sites 304-317 or 349-363. To view a map of the campground go to www.stonemountainpark.com/newsite/rec_camping_camp1.asp. Then let me know if you have a preference of these two groups of sites.

It has been suggested that we have a group breakfast again (thanks to the Florida boomers for the great breakfast in South Carolina last fall!). We need a volunteer to coordinate this. If people are interested in doing a breakfast like we did in Texas, we will bring two turkey fryers. On Friday we are investigating getting a tour bus to pick us up and take us to downtown Atlanta where we would tour the World of Coca-Cola, CNN, Centennial Olympic Park and other sites. Due to the number of people, it may not be feasible to get a bus, but we could still do it in small groups. Please let us know if you would be interested in this as well. On Saturday we plan to enjoy the attractions at Stone Mountain during the day (see www.stonemountainpark.com for more info) and the laser show that evening.

This is my first time as wagonmaster, and I apologize for not being more prompt with getting this going. Any input from you folks is definitly appreciated.

Saw the laser show lots, rode the train & cable car, even did the walk trail to the top, and swam in the lake and lost my wedding ring on our honeymoon, also found it !! However we never got a chance to camp there, sure hope we can make the Rally!!!

Stone Mountain Campground has reserved sites 304 thru 316 for our rally. If we use all of these, they will reserve more. I have site 310.
http://www.stonemountainpark.com/new...ing_camp1.asp#
To make your reservation you can call the campground at 770-413-5420 and use confirmation #19371.

Instead of trying to get a bus for our outing to downtown Atlanta, we can use the rapid transit. The World of Coke, CNN center and Centennial Olympic Park are all within walking distance of the transit station.

Hope y'all don't mind a Florida Boomer horning in on your rally but we made reservations this afternoon (site 313). We already had plans to visit Callaway Gardens in mid-April which would have caused us to miss the April Boomer rally anyway. So visiting with you guys works out real well. We haven't camped at Stone Mt. since the mid-80s when the kids were little and all we had was a tent. This time, no kids and no tent!
