Tampa to Waynesville

My wife and I leave Thursday for Wanesville, NC from Tampa.

We normally have gone through Atlanta, but would like to avoid the traffic in our new (to us) 40 foot RV.

Is there a less congested route from Macon north that anyone would suggest?

Simple. Suggest you catch US441 north in Macon and follow it all the way to US 23 nearCherokee NC. It will be 4 lane divided most of the way except for a short distance north from Macon. When you get to Dillsboro on US441 and US23 go right. Stay on 23 to Dillsboro.

Good drive above Athens, but slow traffic can be a PIA from Eatonton to Athens.
