We planning a trip after labor day up the Natchez Trace from Jackson, east to Asheville, Myrtle Beach, south to Savannah, Jacksonville, Destin and back up to Jackson before heading home.

Any recommendations on cg's, etc. 4-6 weeks are our plans. Two rigs, my 38 and a friend's 42.

Thanks. Looks like ya'll got a great rally planned for October. Have fun.

Thanks, Jim

We like Myrtle Beach State Park better than most of the commercial parks in the MB area, as long as you get a decent site (stay away from site 66!). Of the commercial parks, Ocean Lakes is nice.

If you have time, check out Hunting Island State Park on your way from MB to Savannah. Some sites are tight but the Appalachian and Florida campers had a rally there a few years ago and had a great time.

Try River's End Campground in Tybee Island. Close to Savannah and the beach. It was private when we were there, now it's city owned: City of Tybee Island - Campground.

Near Destin, try Topsail State Preserve. It used to be a private park but is now state owned. We have never been able to get reservations there due to its popularity, but others say it's exceptional.

Have fun!

Just noticed you also mentioned Asheville, NC. Can't make a recommendation there except to say the KOA Asheville West was the noisiest campground we'd ever been in. When you exit US40, you think you're going way off the highway but end up on a hill directly over the highway. Incredible traffic noise all night.

I meant to say I-40, but I guess most anybody would figure that out.

I guess the ability to edit your own posts went the way of the old system.

HI: I can HIGHLY recommend Creek Wood Farms in the Maggie Valley area. Really nice-creek and level sites. Our G/S chapter had a camp out there in June. Check our web site listed below for pictures, directions and the fun we had. Exit # 20 eastbound appx. 1.5 mi's on the left. We also went to Bear Creek on the junction of I-26/I-40 & I-240---never again. We're also planning a camp out at Rutledge Lake RV near Fletcher,N.C. in the fall.
Safe journeys
