Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry not to have posted before now, however, we haven't been able to get on to our computer until now. Here's the update, settle down, get your popcorn and drink...here goes:

Before leaving Florida, we had our tires rotated...I tell you this because we had a big problem which surfaced when we arrived in Maine at my brother's home. After the tires were rotated, my wheelcover (rear passenger side) was not put on tight....so somewhere between FL and PA one of the nuts came off and the other was just about to come off...so we started a search for a replacement....right!!!! We didn't know the tire had gone flat until the Friday just before Memorial Day Week-end. While sitting in my brother's yard, we sank down a little in the grass (due to 27 straight days of rain in May)and could see the tire being pushed up. So we headed into Bangor (Bob lives in Etna, just about 20 miles south of Bangor) had the tire checked...totally ruined. They put a temporary nut on for us and we headed to Prince Edward Island. It was a great trip, except for the daily rain and "COLD". We debated going into Nova Scotia, but due to the continued bad weather we decided to head back to my brother's house. When we got back the "nut" had arrived....WRONG SIZE! We called Gulfstream to see if they could send the right size next time...but of course that one was "back ordered". A week and a half later we got a package with four nuts in it...guess what...WRONG SIZE!! I said to Linda, we have got to get on our way...they'll just have to catch up with us later. But before we had the chance to leave, the carb. on our generator stopped working, so had to have that replaced...Now we are finally ready to leave.
So, now we are heading to visit our dear friend from Lakeland at her summer home in Marietta, New York. While driving south on I 87, about 60 miles south of the Canadian Boarder, a rod and the cover over the rod blew in the engine....of course our cell phones wouldn't work....that ends up another story in itself...but 6 and a half hours later, we actually got towed off the highway....We had several options, but chose to go to the wrecker service garage. As we were pulled there (we followed in our car) it was a very dark road, not a nice looking area, I said to Linda....I bet they're going to kill us....hide our bodies in the trunk...get rid of the car, and sell our motorhome to the best offer...ha.
However, the good Lord knew who to send for us as the son (of the father-son duo) knew exactly what was wrong. The next morning they took the cover off the rods and found which one was broken...had it replaced four hours later and we were back on the road. The business was called Desotell's Garage. They charged us $180.00 for the repair which we thought was very good.
We were supposed to be in Michigan for the fourth of July week, but here we are still in New York with our friend...which is just fine. Now we will leave here next friday making our way to Berea, KY for the Bishop's Homecoming. When that's over, we will start our last treak of the trip to our grandkids in Vancouver, WA.
There were alot of visits we got to make with family and friends while stuck in Maine so it wasn't all bad....except for those "God Awful" black flies....I think they might be even worse than our "fire ants". We got to visit with the Brinks where they stay at Camden Hills Camp Ground. We truly believe everything happens for a reason.
So, that's most of what's gone on since we wrote last. Hopefully we will not be able to get on the computer on a more regular basis from now on. So, we will keep a better update as we continue on our trip.
God Bless You All,
Richard and Linda

Richard and Linda:

Whenever we don't hear from in awhile, we always assume that we will soon be the interested recipients of your latest ventures.

We are also praising the Lord that you didn't end up in the trunk of a car, and that your motorhome wasn't sold. I hope you're keeping good records of all of this, so when we hear a certain sound, or notice the tires rising above the grass, we'll be able to refer to your journal.

So other than that .... how do you like FULL TIMING?

Hope to see you before too long.

Love ya,
Cheri
