DW wants to spend a week at Myrtle Beach this summer. RV park reviews isn't much help to me. Ya'll know the area and your advice is welcome. Where are good RV parks there, and are they big rig friendly? What are your favorite places to see, places to dine, and just enjoy the area?
We plan to visit Myrtle Beach about 2 weeks before the 2011 rally.

DriVer should be chimming right in as he lives inthe area.
Agree, most all of the parks are nice. I hear the new boardwalk is nice. I'll tell you after we stop in again on our way back from Florida next month.

Are you going in the summer-June,July,August? If so should have already made reservations, but if you are going before the National rally then you would be going in Sept? Our daughter and family lives in Myrtle Beach and we never camp there during the "summer months". We prefer Ocean Lakes,in the spring and fall,I think all the sites are pull through,we do however camp at Pirateland in Feb. on our way back from Florida,we get two days half price with CampClubUSA membership. There are many good local places to eat-Nances,Nibbles,Sarah J's down near the Oceanlakes,Lakewood,Pirateland area.and then there are the all you can eat buffets that we stay away from! If your dw likes to shop Myrtle Beach has a lot of outlets to keep her happy. With all the shows, attractions and restaurants you won't have enough days in the week to see and do it all-enjoy!!

Ocean Lakes is probably your best bet. Make sure you hit Murrells Inlet for some great seafood.

Hi All,

I have stayed at Ocean Lakes and Myrtle Beach State Park! I enjoyed them both, however Ocean Lakes is more big rig friendly then state park from what I remember! As for eating a lot of great places, don't think that will be one of your problems,LOL!! Have a great trip no matter where you end up! See Ya at Va Rally!

If you plan on coming to MB in September by all means Ocean Lakes is the place. All sites are pull thru. I would not think about staying there in the summer months as the place is full and children are all over. After mid August, once schools start back, t becomes very nice. Mid September the Ocean temperatures are warm, the beach is nice and the multitude of restaurants are less crowded. Sections H, I or 2000 are my favorites. The sites face East and the sun rising over the ocean in the morning is terrific.

Section I#23 I believe, I slept since then_ We arrive Sep 14. This gives us a week at Myrtle Beach before meandering NE to the rally.

We have stayed at Pirate Land and Ocean Lakes and liked them both. Lots of things to see and do there. Must go to Broadway at the beach.
Leaving on the 15th of March for an annual golf trip with 7 other guys, but won't be camping this trip. When I camp it's with DW and our pooch.

Bill, In SC get off at Exit 33, RT17 and follow the signs for Charleston. Let me know when you get here in MB and we'll hook up.

Make time while in Charleston to visit Patriot's Point in Mt. Pleasant and the Angel Oak on John's Island. Just came back from PP on Thursday last. Saw more stuff than I did before. Always new stuff to look at. PS: Save a Buck as an old fogy. Angel Oak was free.

Ray, When you get here I'll give you my cell number and we can talk. We'll get you going in the right direction. Consider staying at Ocean Lakes or if you are a Passport Member perhaps you might like Briarcliff.
