Beach camping in late July or early aug

We along with two other families are considering camping somewhere between Atlantic city New Jersey and Virginia Beach Virginia in late July or early August. We want to camp at the beach with full hook ups if that is POSSIBLE. We all have campers under 30 feet long. We want a family friendly area. We will have 12 kids with us from 1 to 14 years old.
Any ideas or places to go would be helpful.
Thank you in advance.
Chris

Castaways RV Park..... just outside Ocean City Md. is close to the ocean. On he bay and very upscale. Lots to do with kids there. Also Frontierland RV Park in same area, nice park, lots to do there also. On the bay near ocean. Has it's own water park on grounds.

If you don't mind pushing a little further south Frisco Woods campground on the outer banks of Nc has always been my families favorite spot

For the last two years we have camped at kitty hawk rv park in kitty hawk on the outer banks nc. Love it there. Less than a 100yd from the ocean. Don't have much to do at the campground other than to go to the beach but you are not far from the good restaurants and Wright brothers museum and lots of other stuff.
I searched from pa,nj,md,va and nc. Kitty hawk was one only rv park that was oceanfront. Lots of others on the sound or bay. They are some very nice campgrounds on down the outer banks near hatteras but that's an extra hr or more drive time and the campground are more $ but have pools and playgrounds. But you are further away from other things to do.

Don't forget Delaware Beaches!

Have not stayed there yet, but there is the Delaware State Beach. They are right on the beach with full hookups, some pull-throughs and pet friendly. No shade though as it is right on the beach. There is one on the north side and one on the south side of the bridge. It's not far from Ocean City, MD, if you like the Eastern Shore.

I frequent the KOA in Cape Charles, VA a lot- its a really nice RV park with beautiful facilities. Nice deck and beach on the Chesapeake bay. Cherrystone Campground is also very nice. Both have very nice pools - the KOA is a large pool with a wading area with fountains and stuff for kids. Very quiet and family friendly too!

My son is currently working as a law enforcement ranger at Assateague National Seashore in MD. There is a campground there and also an adjacent state park with a campground on the beach. Not sure if they have hookups but its a beautiful area near Ocean City. You can also kayak on the bay, see the wild horses, drive on the beach, etc.

csp, My 'homebreak' is Assateague Is. near Ocean City MD. I have been surfing/kiting/paddling/birding it for 40yrs. TonyDi had a great suggestion, espc. with little kids. Both those places are too much fun for me...

RVT's son works at 'my park'. The showers in the federal park are cold water. (not an issue in Summer). I hear the ones in the State park have heated shower water. I am 98% positive that the only full hookups in the federal park are for 'hosts' ...'am not sure about State. (they are adjacent)

Not sure if they spray in the commercial parks, but biting flies and mossies are an issue on any West'ish wind, but not too bad if blowing 10kts or better. I have never seen State or Feds use any bug control. I have never been there at night, but I'd bet it is not 'sit outside time'.
