What's up for Easter? Looking at a couple of possibilities: Myrtle Beach, Shenadoah Valley KOA or Candy Hill in Winchester VA.

It wasn't a good fit for us still with teens but campers are crazy about Willow Tree. Beautiful place, huge sites, nice pool no beach...rural...Longs SC outside North Myrtle. Expensive but you can get site with your own hot tub on lake!

I must admit even without teens I like the whoopdee doo of staying at the beach

I did a little checking on the CG's in Myrtle Beach - we have been there several times but not in the RV. I know that CG reviews are really just one person's view and just like ... .... everyone has one. I found this web site very intersting

http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions...tle_Beach.html

regarding the comments about golf carts, pets and alcohol - we have been through the "golf cart" CG race track stuff at Grey's Point and if it's as bad as they say I don't know if my "mild manner/reserved attitude" can be controlled. Drinking out of plastic cups doesn't bother me - we do that anyway but I hope I don't forget and walk out of the RV with a Budwiser Bottle. Any one one this site have personal experience that contradicts the reviews posted? I can definately do some smoked bunny if we go.

We're headed to Lakewood for Easter. My brother just bought a new Dutch Star DP so that'll be his first long trip.

Sorry no contradiction here. Bottom line if you don't want crazies and golf carts skip Ocean Lakes. Never tried Lakewood. We have loved OL over the years with kids and teens ... last time tried Myrtle Beach Travel Park in North Myrtle and liked it very much. No golf carts unless you own it. Roads mostly packed dirt and some narrow. Got 1st row on beach (dunes) but bikes all we had to dodge to cross the street. Note: All MB campgrounds have fireworks at night, loud and lively. Some dogs have a problem.

While Ocean Lakes and Lakewood are two of the "big three" oceanfront campgrounds they've never had a proper handle on the golf cart issue and I OWN one....
We stayed there over the kids Turkey day break, but honestly were headed out of the park every day for shopping or sightseeing...

I recently paid the bucks and joined Briarcliffe, where it may not be convenient for the beach goers, but it's gated and a little better controlled...

Ocean Lakes/Lakewood have the beach to draw folks in, but regrettably one day someone's gonna get hurt there with all the underage cart use.

Bob I couldn't agree any more with you on the golf cart issue. I love the close beach proximity but can't stand the golf carts. We stayed over during the July 4th holiday but won't make that mistake again.

Bob, I think the campground we have access to in Myrtle through our new membership is Briarcliffe. I think the beach front Lakewood should be safe from an over abundance of golf carts over EASTER. If not, I will show you how to make the little buggers with carts avoid yer area.
