Looking for a campground in or near Erie, PA that is open in March. Any suggestions would much appreciated. Doesn't need to be any thing fancy. Just somewhere to stay for a few days while exploring the area instead of a hotel.

We did find Harecreek Campground in Corry, PA, about 15-20 minutes out of Erie. Does anyone know anything about this campground? According to Woodall's they are open year round.

Rick A, We have been to HareCreek Campgrounds several times, very clean and nice, bring a water pressure gauge they have city water, another nice campgrounds located closer to Erie,Pa. is Sparrow Pond campgrounds, located 5 mi. south of Interstate 90 on US 19. Ed.S

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately we needed a campground open in March, and Sparrow Pond Campground I believe doesn't open until April. Seems to be the theme in that area. We are looking forward to visiting the area though.

There are no campgrounds open in or near Erie in March. What I would do is call the closest campgrounds and possibly one of them may let you park even thought they are not open. Don't expect water service.
Also, if you are a FMCA member look in your annual members directory for a member in or near Erie that offers a spot to park overnight.
