First Landing
Hello from MA,
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for camping at First Landing? Our trip is one week next April.
Thanks.

Hi,I'm kind of local to the area. We camp 3 or 4 times a year at 1st landing in VA Beach. There are specific ( you book your site) and non specific ( you book the park and take your'e pick of the sites that are left when you arrive )sites. With a 31 ft you will need a EW50 site-- a blue one. We like B8 and G23 for shade although in April you may want a sunny site. Also the water in Ches Bay is cold!! We are camping in Sept on H1, a sunny site. There are no sewer sites so we make use of the bath house if we are there more than 4 days. They are very clean and are serviced three times a day.Happy trails.

Thanks, lancslad for the info. We plan on getting a honeywagon that will hook onto the TV.
Any landmarks or touristy areas we should check out? We want to visit good local diners as well. We saw on DDD a place called the Louging Lizard that is down the road.
Thanks, again.

We live adjacent to First Landing (or as known by locals, Seashore) State Park. With a "beach" setting and an area reaped in history, you couldn't possibly want for a better location to camp. The park is located just a few miles from the Virginia Beach "strip" which offers loads of culinary selections, the Virginia Beach Aquarium and numerous other attractions. Local fair can also be found going west on RT 60 (Shore Dr) with several very nice waterfront restaurants as well.
There are many military museums all over and, of course, Williamsburg is only about 45 - 60 minutes from the park which you could spend a week in.

Don't forget to visit the Great Dismal Swamp!
When younger I would run/walk all over Seashore State Park,

No room
The location of First Landing is very good. My DH has to go to Va Beach for a seminar and this seemed like the ideal place to stay for a few days. Unfortunately they are full. I know...it's summer and high season at the beach. Any other recommendations in the area? We have an Itasca Suncruiser 37F (and love it!). With the heat we'd love to have 50 AMP. Plus we have a lab and lab puppy who are members of our family so it needs to be dog friendly. Thanks.

Va beach
I'm not that familiar with the area either. This time of year is tough. Try rvparky for other campgrounds. Good luck!

Have to book early for First Landing. I waited too late and ended up out at Davis lakes (long drive to VA Beach area) cause my sons GF lives in Franklin.
Hoping to get into First Landing later this fall
