I'll check tomorrow, but they are generally full memorial day w/e. I can say for sure those sites won't be available.

If you are not adverse for a little further trip, the Xenia County Fairgrounds, Xenia, Ohio is an excellent site for a rally. They have excellent facilities for meetings, two dump stations, and water and 30 amp electricity at all sites. They can hold 200 RVs if necessary. We just had our Winnebago Ohio Summer Rally there. We had over 100 RVs at the rally. It is just outside of Dayton, Ohio and within 15 minutes of the United States Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. You can spend two days minimum touring the museum. It is possible to setup a dinner at the Officer's Club on the base even if none of you are Air Force veterans. There are many other sites to see around the Dayton area especially featuring the Wright brothers including a ride on a replica of the Wright Flyer aircraft.

If you are interested, I'll get you contact information.

John we usually want the first weekend after Mother Day Sunday. Most of us have plans for Memorial Day weekend or will not travel that weekend.

Bob thanks for the idea. I know roughly where the park is and the area does offer a lot things to do. I will bring it up for discussion at our rally/reunion this Oct.

I tried for the weekend after Mother's Day but it is full. At least to the point we would not get sites together. They have 5 rallies going on that weekend here.

Just to be perfectly clear:
  • W/E of 5/8 is Mother's Day weekend.
  • W/E of 5/14 is booked; multiple rallies.
  • W/E of 5/21 I have our reservations.
  • W/E 5/28 is Memorial Day weekend.
I too don't like to travel anywhere Memorial Day weekend. In fact the last 2 years I helped out here at the park Memorial Day weekend so I wouldn't be going anywhere anyway. Last year the CG only had 4 empty sites Memorial Day weekend. Most people make their reservation for the following year when checking in. But I said I would check out that weekend so I will.

At this point, the park is fairly wide open the weekend of 5/21. The owner told me that as she takes reservations she will try to stay away from 2 "A" site before and after ours in case we need a few more sites. I am hoping that before I leave here in November I will have a better handle on how many sites we'll need. I can also let her know by phone of changes.

The final question is do we want to reserve 2 nights or 3 nights?

John, since you have volunteered to do our Spring 2010 Rally I believe you have the right to decide how it will be done. When, Where, and How! It will be near impossable to confirm all attendees by Nov, some flexability will be needed here. I will come down for 3 days, cheese steaks!!!!! My concern for the Holiday was for our working member lol .

The weekend of May 21, 2010 is the date.

I will put the details together and we can go over it at the fall campout. Remember I can only visit on Saturday.

We NEVER camp on Memorial Day weekend as we always host a large Memorial Day picnic at our house. The weekend before Memorial Day will be tough because of preparations for the Memorial Day picnic, but I will do my best. Sounds like fun!
