Have to go to a family function in August '08 in Cecil County and we are looking for a full hookup facility in that area. Doesn't look like too much, possibly a marina or two that could set us up with 50 amps and water hookup. Any help appreciated.

You are correct.

There is very little in the area.

Woodall's lists Woodlands camping resort in Elkton, 410-398-4414. I don't know anything about this one.

There is nothing in northern DE that is suitable.

The one listed in the guides is somewhere you do not want to be. You would not feel safe there. Don't stay there.

The Cecil County Tourism Office lists a number of campgrounds on their web site. Here's the link:

Thank you for your replies. I have found two in the general area that look promising.

Woodlands Camping Resort, Elkton, MD and
Bar Harbor RV Park, Abingdon, MD

Anybody have any input on either location?

Thanks.

I'd go with Woodlands. It will be closer for you and Bar Harbor is, IMHO, hard to get in and out of the sites (they are small and close together).

Thanks again for all of your replys. Pretty slim pickins in that area. I am amazed that with all of the land available and the amount of traffic running through there that someone hasn't set up a decent RV/camping park.

I have lived in Cecil County for all of my life. Not really much around at this point. Any thing that was around (mostly permanent sites) has been flattened for condos.

Try Elk Neck State Park in Northeast, Maryland. I just spent a week there and found that they have full hookups in the Northeast Loop. Open year round also.

We were up in Maryland for a family deal this past weekend and had an opportunity to stop off at Woodlands RV Park, Elkton. Looks good, even picked out a pull through spot. Nice people.

Bar Harbor RV Park is not that far and a nice campground not the best but ok I would go back. We stayed there last year for a family function also.
Site SW1 to SW6 have a grate view right on the river.

First welcome to the site. Loaded with great info and people. Thanks for taking the time to give your recommendation on the park in Abington.
