Has any body stayed here? It's on Pine Creek in the PA Grand Canyon, we are going the weekend of Oct.21/23. The fall colors should be just right for photos and some flyfishing.

Haven't stayed there, but would like to hear your comments about it. We'll be at Ive's Run same weekend (actually 22nd through 25th) which is about 12 mi. North of Wellsboro. If you haven't stayed at Ive's Run, you'll want to check it out. Army Corp. Of Engineers with 685 acre lake, paved roads and sites and plenty of room. We're planning to again bicycle ride the canyon as we did last fall. This part of PA is beautiful, but in the fall it's simply spectacular!

Joopy

This will be our first weekend in the Canyon, we went up before just for the day. we will be camping on Pine creek. we're bring the bicycles. If you venture down that far we are in site 13 a Winnie Adventurer. I just found out a nephew stayed there in tents a few years ago on an over nite trail ride, said the place was nice and clean shower room. I'll let you know, enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the thought. Same goes for you as well. We'll be in a Winnie at site 42 if you decide to check out Ive's Run. Hope we finally get a dry weekend!
BTW - I looked at Petticoat website and yes, we were there! We didn't camp there but we rode bikes in and checked it out. Nice location. Cedar Run has a nice little ice cream parlor just off the bike trail. Also, really cool railroad bridge on the bike trail just north of the campground. I think you'll like the CG and the location.

Cheers,
Joopy

Hi Joopy, We had a great weekend. Very relaxing,no cell phone service. We arrived around 9pm on Fri. rain on the way up from State College,(thats where we park the RV in the fall,PSU football). We had a wide flat grass site we pulled in to face Pine Cr. 30 amp service & water. Shower house was clean, coin showers 3min.for a quater.
We walked the trail for a couple hours in the morning,it was overcast but it was a nice day for a walk, and went flyfishing for a few hours ,no luck but I catch and release with barbless hooks.Set the tv dish so we could watch the PSU game Sat. night. We built a fire which was nice and relaxing and had a few adult beverages and then went in to watch the PSU @ Northwestern game. I had to put the heat on Sat. night it was a little colder.
The campground office is an old railroad caboose, they had a few items in the store,a barell of wood was $10.00 (a35 gal. plastic drum cut down and filled with the wood standing on end) There were some seasonal people there and talking to them they were pleased with the campground. We will go again I'm planning for late next April. They have wifi service for $2.00 a day.

Thanks for dropping the note about your trip, RV LYONS. Glad to hear you enjoyed the campground. What a simply beautiful section of PA! We arrived at Ives Run Saturday and stayed through Tuesday. The foliage was gorgeous and I really liked to cool weather. Makes the campfire feel really important And, yes... we had the furnace pumping the heat out with 34 degree temps in the mornings!

We rode bike in the canyon Monday, and although overcast, it was still nice to be there..... followed by lunch at the famous Wellsboro Diner. Pine Creek was a bit swollen which should have made fishing a little more challenging.

Came home and winterized the coach for the season. Hope to get out again by Feb/Mar. for a trip somewhere south and warm

Cheers,
Joopy

Hello, We were just up there in Oct.1,2011 We stayed at twin streams campground and that was a great campground clean and everyone was so friendly, we would stay there again if we ever go up again. Little Grand Canyon is a very nice place and we enjoyed our stay very much. Make sure you stop in the town of Wellsboro, when you are up that way the town is so nice and laid back. The wellsboro dinner has good food and friendly people, the cole slaw is to die for. They have the old gas street lights, If you go have a great time.
