We are moving to DC, N. VA area for military duty (Pentagon). We will live in an apartment and need a place to put our RV so we can escape easily on weekends. Ft Belvior is telling us a two year wait for a spot....anyone know a reasonable place....not even sure what reasonable is in this area.
Thanks

Solomons Island - Southern Maryland off of route 4. Best place around - if you just want electric 50A and water it's running $10.00 a night right now. They have some premium sites that people have to get on a list for but the only time the place is full is Memorial Day weekend. We have been here for two weeks so far - have been camping here for over 20 years. It's right on the Patuxent River about 10 miles from the base - lots of everything in the area - campground has over 300 sites - two swimming pools, marina, fishing pier and so on. Lots of seafood in the area - Many people come here for the summer from all over the area. PM me if you'd like more info - it's probably about an hour drive from the Pentagon area - I commuted to the Navy Yard and to Virginia after I retired from USN for about 2 years. You'll love it.

Sounds like your looking for a storage lot. I keep mine at Holly Acres in Woodbridge, VA. Good security and easy access. Pay $89.00 mo for premium spot for 40' coach yours would be cheaper for 35'.

Solomons also has a "storage only" fee - runs around $75-$100 a month - lots of RV's closed up for the winter right now - security is not an issue - gate manned just like other military complexes - no sticker/ID card no entrance.

Holly Acres in Woodbridge/Dale City area is close to the Pentagon. You can visit their web site at: www.hollyacres.com to get their prices for storage.

Larry:

We're in Dale City as well (Mapledale). Do you store your coach at Holly Acres as well? We keep our boat, equip trailer, and coach there.

Bob

Maybe you might want to think about a campground to store it. Some campgrounds such as KOA's, and others, will store RV's.
