Any information on a RV site near Pittsburgh in November? Most of the locations are closed after October.

Welcome to iRV2. We hope you continue to visit us and share your experiences.

I am going to link this request to the North Central Region forum also. This should get you some additional responses. While PA is indeed in the Northeast Region, the western part of the state generally aligns with the North Central Region folks.

BCG:

Even in camping season, I don't know of any campground that is less than 30 miles from Pittsburgh.

The closest state parks, Keystone and Raccoon Creek, both close before the end of October.

However, take heart. The Washington/Pittsburgh SW KOA in Washington, PA, near I-70 & I-79, is open until December 1st and Rose Point Park near New Castle, PA, just off US-422, is open all year.

I've been to Rose Point Park twice but it's been about five years since my last visit and my information would be a bit "stale".

I've never camped at the Washington/Pittsburgh KOA.

Maybe another member can provide some information on these campgrounds.

Try this link to the SW section of the PA Campground Owners Association. SW. PA. Campground Owns Association It lists the opening and closing dates. I think there were 3-4 that were open year round. Here in NE Ohio our state park tend to stay open year round. Punderson State Park just east of Cleveland stays open year round with one loop of electric sites and one heated showerhouse. We camped there Thnaksgiving weekend back in 06'. Thanksgiving weekend 06' at Punderson Were also looking to get out one more time in Nov. Other state parks in Ohio near the PA. border that I believe stay open year round are: West Branch, Punderson, Pymatuning, Bark Camp

Thanks for the leads. The SW PA Campground Association show a few options. Another member PM'ed me with a link to Mountain Top Bluegrass Campground which appears to be closest to Pittsburgh/Monroeville. I call them and they are open thru November.

Thanks all for your help.

We come up every year for Thanks Giving, and we found that the Washington KOA works out great for us since all the family is in Pittsburgh. I'ts about 25~30 miles south of D'Burgh. from there it's about another 10~15 miles to Monroeville. If you stay here over the holiday look us up, Ask Rick or Sharon. Nice people.
