We will be spending Thanksgiving camping in Lancaster this year. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a nice place to have dinner on thankgiving day? We were originally going to have an old fashioned Thanksgiving in Williamsburg, but things beyond our control have forced a change in plans.

Sorry Rick, I have never eaten out on T-Day. We've been going to Gettysburg the last several years and are doing it again this year. I cook the whole dinner in the trailer.

Have a great T-Day.

Rick A. Look for a place called the Shady Maple Resturant, it has some of the best food in the Lancaster area. I'm not sure if there open on TG, but I would think they are. You may needd a reservation. Maybe we will join you there for dinner, we will be in Hershey for the Holiday. Don't forget the Green Dragon farmers market on friday in Effrata.

Jestme13, Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to give them a call.

Rick, any suggestions on how you prepare a full Thanksgiving meal in the trailer. This is the first year we will be in the camper for the holiday. We will actually be at the Circle M in Millersville.

Wow, you'll be 2 miles from my house. Unfortunately, we'll be in Gettysburg.

I cook the stuffed turkey in an electric roaster with extra filling done in the oven. Sometimes I also do a fried turkey if alot of the family is coming. I make the gravy on the stove after the turkey is done. When I carve the turkey I either put the meat back in the roaster to keep warm or put it in crock pots. All other stuff is either done on the stove or in the microwave, just like at home.

We have eaten dinner outdoors if the weather is warm enough, with a blazing fire going nearby. In Gettysburg the campground lets us use their indoor snack bar (only open during the summer) to gather for our meal.

I just thought of another option since you will be at Circle M. Saint Leo's Catholic church always does a huge Thanksgiving meal every year that is open to the public. You could check on that. It is located at the intersection of 741 and 999.
