We started into Acadia Park last fall and were concerned about driving in the park as the first bridge clearance appeared less than 12 feet. We need 12'8" for our Newmar DutchStar. We are planning a return visit this summer, and would like to know of a resource (or personal experience) that would tell us if we can drive the distance. The road is one way, and I don't relish the thought of backing up several miles should we encounter a low clearance.

I have driven several MH's thru the park on main road and have never encounted a low bridge to stop the drive. Have camped in their CG and gone up the CADILLAC,just watch out for high curbs when parking could damage hubs.

Bridge Heights
The heights listed below are Federal Highway Administration recommendations for vehicle height restrictions on bridges on the Park Loop Road. Taller vehicles should plan their route in advance. Locations are indicated on official park map, which can be downloaded in several formats from the NPS maps website.

Bridge Clearance: Sieur de Monts Area 12'2"
Blackwoods Area 11'8"
Wildwood Stables Area 12'9"
Stanley Brook Road 10'4"

This information is from http://www.nps.gov/acad/fastfacts.htm#bridge
