The 95 Rt can be a pain but we returned last Fri.and for some reason it was a clean shot. New Jersey to Jax Fla. and back NJ turnpike to 95 to 695 over the Key Bridge (PROPANE) around Balti. and washington on the Balti./Washington parkway back on to 95 to Jax.I used to take 295 around Richmond but for a newer road it will beat you and your coach up.We stopped in North Caroline rest areas for a fast nights sleep and where out on the road by 5am: The trip took us 17 hrs. not rushing and keeping it below 65 mph.I belive the roads are a lot quiter with the econ. and fuel prices as we noticed the hotels parking lots had no in them 10pm: in Feb. they should have been packed.

Have a grat time and safe trip!!!!!!!

A lot of this depends on how much time you have and time of year travelling. Pick your poison getting out of CT and NY but once you get south of NY run the NJ Turnpike to 195 West to 295 to the Del Mem Brdg. Once over the bridge follow the signs for 13/301 south towards Dover. This will put you, after a few miles on 1 toll. Follow to Odessa/Middletown and again pickup 301 towards Annapolis. This becomes 50 through Annapolis. About 10 to 15 miles past Annapolis again pickup 301 south. Follow to 95 south. Puts you on 95 at MM 104, head south on 95 to exit 84, 295 (exit/merge on the left) to bypass Richmond. This may seem odd from the other posts but I ran that route for many years. Keeps you on the east side of everything and completely bypasses Baltimore and DC. Good roads and plenty of places to pull in for a nights stay.
