Anyone have a particular campground they would suggest between upstate NY and Lancaster for the Friday night before the rally? Anyone else going down on Friday night from up here? Thanks

We are leaving either fri. night or sat. morn and staying overnight 1/2 way till sun morn. , then going to Lancaster.I like taking it easy on the road and staying at new campgrounds. If you find a place no more than 4 hours away, let us know,we can hook up.I also want to visit some rv dealerships along the way and down there,we are looking at toyhaulers to replace our trailer as long as we dont take to much of a hit on it

We do too Frankie. It would be fun if we meet at the same campground. I haven't started looking here, because I just hoped that someone else would have already figured out where to go LOL.
A toyhauler, eh? You have to bring that much stuff with the baby LOL? I thought that three bedroom at the show was just perfect for youse guys.

Frankie, I sent this to Doris, I spent my first nite in my MH at this CG. It is called Green Island Beach CG in Newton, NJ. It is the town where they make the cookies, Fig Newtons LOL. All kidding aside it's about 300 miles for you, and about 161 for Doris. It is in the Northeast corner of NJ.

Thanks Bud..I think we'll go down through PA..I'll have Gil give me the route, since that would sure help with finding a campground. We've been so busy, I haven't even had time to pursue this.

Frankie, we have always preferred going down PA, rather than Jersey. I had to shut down because of a bad storm, but hopefully Gil will have time to map it out for me soon.

Frankie, I take the route right across NJ, Lancaster is due west of us about 130 miles. This is the shortest trip to a rally we ever made. The CG I mentioned has a lot of wildlife in it, the deer walk about as close as the dare. When you cross over the border into Jersey, mention my name and you'll get the right kind of treatment, (if you know what I mean)just say that Sally Boy sent you... ROGLMAO

Ok..if this route passes the OK with youse guys who live in the area, it appears we would want a campground in the Bethlehem area. Looking for any suggestions. We prefer to not go through the area of Joirsey that makes us do a lot of stop and go at the toll booths and trying to get this trailer into the correct lane all the time. It's been a lot of years since we went that way, but it seemed we spent a lot of time hurrying up and waiting. So, hows this?:

We go to Pine Hill for quick getaways. It can be seen from I-78 but the exit (exit 40) is another mile down the road. When you get up, get back on 78W to exit 29 (61S) to get to Lancaster. All sites are pull thrus and are large.
I would go a little different way from 222 using I-176, 23 and 10 to 30. If interested, e-mail me.

I finally found Newton on a map, and it looks like the way Gil right now has planned that would be a possibility..now that it moved to the Northwest LOL. We both remember missing more of NJ when we went to DC, than mapquest planned out though. We hated the stop and go at a bunch of tollbooths when we hit Jersey and are trying to avoid them. I guess Gil will have to spend time with a "real" map.
