The fiance and I are heading up around Bar Harbor in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good campground around the area? Will be pulling my m/c with me to tour the area. Any info would be great....
Trying to get out of the motel mode and back into the camping mode...

thanks
Harry

Hi Harry, Welcome to IRV2. We've used the Bar Harbor KOA a couple of times. It's a bit pricy during peak season but the view and the location for sight seeing are great. There are several other campgrounds on the island that look nice but we've never used them so I can't make a recommendation.

Hi Harry, we were in Bar Harbor summer of 2004 and loved it. We stayed at Bar Harbor C/G they do not take res. but they told us they have never been full. The sites are in shade, trees etc. or they have quite a few out in the sun. with pads. A little bit of everything, people were very nice. It seemed to us to have more space at sites than the KOA, I don't remember the price but it was very reasonable.
