I am looking for campgrounds in this area that can handle a 40 ft MH that have wide open, scenic and clean sites, thanks for any info.

Hi,
Not much up that way. About a mile north of town there's Spruce Cone, good view of Lake Francis. I've only stayed at Spruce Cone when snowmobiling. There's also a state campground, but doubt it could handle our size coaches.
There are couple of campgrounds between Colebrook and Errol.
I don't have phone numbers or URL's handy. If you have trouble finding phone numbers, let me know and I'll dig them up.

I'm not sure where you are headed but if you are in the Errol area, there was, about 6-7 yrs. ago, a very nice campground on Rt.16, just over the Maine line, on the Azicohos sp?river. Water and electric and big sites. Left side of 16 heading north. Very scenic.
There also is another a little further up that I found the link for, you wouldn't be dissapointed in either one. We stayed there a few yrs back.

Try searching the NH Campground directory. ucampnh.com....Once you get north of the Twin Mountain/Jefferson?Lancaster area it is pretty slim pickings. Beautiful country up there though. I've been snowmobiling in that area for years. Route 3 is a long bumpy ride, take it slow.
