Hi, Ya'll:
We will be in Bar Harbor, ME from June through Labor Day, and wanted to take our time heading back south, while driving through the New England states. Then we heard from some friends, that most of the campgrounds close down after Labor Day!
Could any of you provide some information, where we "might" be able to stay along the way? We would like to stop in VT, NH, CT, MA.
We are Florida Boomers so Noreastern camping is new to us.
We would appreciate any suggestions or information.

Most campgrounds way up here are open until at least Columbus Day weekend. There are actually a few that stay open year round with limited facilities and ammenities. Best advise is to get a campground directory and call around.

Thanks, Trooper:
We have a Woodall's so I'll start looking right now!
We're packing jackets, sweatshirts and jeans. We heard it's still in the 40's in June when we plan to arrive in ME.
Take care!

Hi Cheri, When you'all start heading back down give me a shout. there are some good CG open all year round to get you back to Florida. I would certainly pack some sweat shirts to ward off the mornin' chill...Bud

Hey Cheri. I don't know of any that close Labor Day weekend. Our camping time in the NE is short enough, and most all in those states make it as mentioned to Columbus Day. Then our water tends to freeze, so they shut it off..even the campgrounds that stay open.

To, Cookestwo;
Re; Campgrounds open after Labor Day,,
There is Normandy Farms in Foxboro, Mass. that is open all yeaR AND HAS AN IN-DOOR heated pool and is just off rt. 1
There is Highland Orchard in Connecticut that is open year round.
There areothers, check the directories.
You will enjoy the foliage if you linger up north awhile and also welcome the warmth when you head south.
Good luck and healthy and safe traveling

Hi Cheri,
In VT the state campgrounds close after Labor Day but most of the private campgrounds are open until Columbus Day. Meredith Woods in Meredith, NH is open all year but with limited facilities.
Also the Nor'Easters usually have their fall rally on Columbus Day weekend. You may want to keep an eye on our forum and join us if you can. No Plans have been made yet as to where it will be.

I never gave the state campgrounds a thought, because most of the state campgrounds have no electric or water..so we wouldn't want to be there anyway LOL

Cheri, don't miss the oppertunity to stay in the most beautiful state, Pennsylvania. Our state parks are open until mid october and some longer. Our private cg's are open thru Oct and some until Thanksgiving. We have the best foliage anywhere. Don't miss the POCONO mountains !

Cheri, as most have already said, the CGs here don't close right after Labor Day, although it does seem like a mass exodus. June though can be a mixed bag, cold, warm or hot, we never know, but as long as it's not snowing, you'll find us in a much better mood, lol.

Hey, Noreasters!
Thanks so much for all of your information. Sorry I'm just now getting back to you. We've been in Virginia this week for our son's wedding, and tomorrow to PA for a 1-month stay. We will be getting together with 4 couples from our days in Virginia and seeing the sights. We love PA which is why we're staying for a month. We'll be joining a rally of Tiffin Owners at the Pine Hill Campground near Kutztown while there.
We'll definitely watch the iRV2 website for info on the Noreasters' rally in October.
Take care ya'll all!
Cheri

Cheri, we will be at the Kutztown fair grounds from June 19-23 for a SAFARI regional rally. You sure are welcome to stop by and visit.
