For a short weekend I would be willing to travel 3-4 hours. We did cape may and while it was fun , 8 hours is to far to travel for a weekend. My thoughts are this, if a rally is planned and I can make it I will.We all dont have to go to every rally, even though I want to.I dont get offended if a rally is out of my driving plan.I encourage everyone to keep making suggestions, especially the newer members!!

With my work schedule I can usually get a day or two off to extend a week end, so I don't mind traveling 5 or 6 hours to get to a rally. I also agree with Frankie. If someone is good enough to volunteer to be wagonmaster, they should set the date and place that works for them. Then the ones that can make it will and so far we've had no shortage of people that can attend. We haven't made every rally since we joined but we have enjoyed every one we have attended. So for anyone thinking about volunteering to be wagonmaster, don't let any reservations about dates or times hold you back.

Hi All,

I agree 100000000000000000% with the above posters! Retired folks will tend to have more time to travel farther and stay longer then the working guy! I also have not made all the Rallys, but without a doubt have always enjoyed the ones I made !! Also some of the ones I missed were closer then some I did get to! As for the area you live in VS Rallys to go to! I have attended NorEaster, Mid Atlantic and Appalachian Campers Rally's, and I felt very welcomed as well as had a good time at them all!! This is just my 2 cents worth and hope it helps !!

If you cant make any rally because of distance ,that dont mean others will have any problems there are enough people that can and will have super time no matter what. It shouldnt deter anyone from trying too. Im sure if the date is good and the weather permitting im sure there be great turn out

Bill, on the question of how far we're willing to go to a rally. For us, it's more a question of travel time, for short weekends we'd like to keep our travel time below 4 hours. When we're able to extend our weekend, we're willing to travel 5 or 6 hours.

'Other', I concur with the earlier replies....

I think I was the only person who mentioned distance in relation to a rally, so I'm not sure of the point of this thread. I've never read where anyone else objected (and I've not objected) to a rally because of distance, and I've never objected to anyone on this board who has been willing to hold a rally, no matter where it was in the past 8 years I was a part of this group. Not ever.
I may post that we won't go because of the distance, or the date, but I think I've made it very clear that that is just us (sorry, but driving with a husband who falls asleep at he wheel, just isn't fun). I've never said we should/shouldn't have a rally somewhere because it's too far for us.
The rally's we can come to we will, but I'm not going to feel bad for stating my opinion that for US a rally may be too far.
So, that stated, I'm sure a rally is being planned and will be whereever the group decides it should be at the fall rally. I'm out of all the rally thread discussions from now on.
