I would be willing to try put together a boat ride down the Erie Canal. It includes a 20ft drop through one of the locks. The boat holds about 45 people, and is a covered Phontoon boat. If you are interested in doing this trip, it is only a half hr drive to the boat. Plese post here and how many people to see if there is enough interest. It takes about 1 1/2 hrs long. Will will make this trip on Saturday afternoon, giving time for people to go to the mine across the street, in the morning. Cost is $18 per person.

UPDATE: I have reserved 30 seats for the boat ride, May 30, at 3:00PM.

To reseve seats contact Jerry Gertz on 954-294-9592 or 315-717-0350

Make sure to mention that you are with the IRV2 group

This is a nice ride. Very scenic and relaxing. Well worth the time and money.

Not for nothing -- we who are the last ones to know because we are never on are the first ones to make a reservation!

"Everyone must call for there own Reservation". The capt is taking care of the count of the 30 seats avail. I may be able to get more seats if there is a demand. There is no problem getting on board even for handicap. Children will even enjoy this ride. So far the Capt said only 4 were signed up as of today.

I talked to the boat captain today. He has 12 people signed up for the Canal Boat Ride. This is a rain or shine event. Please sign up ASAP because there will be a cut off date, after that the 30 saved seats will go back to the public, and you may not get on. Be sure to mention irv2
