I have been trying to gauge the interest in a clam boil for Saturday night at the Fall Rally. It's a lot more expensive than I had originally thought it would be and a lot more work. Before I continue down this path, I want to see how others feel about having a clam boil vs. a traditional pot luck supper.

Heck, potlucks are always fine with us.
Tim, It's an obvious thought to have a clambake since we'll be near the shore in RI, but that doesn't mean it's a "must".
I think a pot luck would be easier.
Just my 2 cents.

I think the idea of a clam boil is an excellent idea. I also think trying to organize it from a distance would be tough. I think we should let everybody pitch in for our trditional pot luck. I haven't been to one of our pot luck's yet where I didn't leave with a full belly, a warm heart and a big smile.

Hi All,
Of course I am fine either way pot luck or clam boil! However I did vote pot luck, because without a doubt it seems like it would be easier, and we have never had a bad one !! Also was not sure what or how I was going to help, if we had a clam boil! With pot lucks and crock-pots you can still do things with the group and still bring a nice meal to the group dinner! IMHO sometimes simple and small is better !!

Well, it looks like the clamboil has been mathematically eliminated. Pot luck it is!
