I have been to Bar Harbor many times. Have never tried Bass Harbor campground, most seem to like the KOA in Bar Harbor. I have rode around in my car in Bass Harbor, I believe they call it the quite side.

There is much less tourist traffic on that side of the Island.

we stayed at the Mount Desert Narrows on the island. Great view of the bay and a nice quiet park. Short drive to all of the attractions.

We are currently parked in the Hospitality Woods RV Park in Ellsworth, ME and it is a nice CG. Not a lot of amenities but it has what we need, W/E/S, a wash room and decent price, under $40 per night. Bar Harbor is about 20 minutes away and we were there today. Owner is very nice and helpful!
