On a personal note, Laraine had surgery today to repair a right torn rotator cup, she's right handed, so post surgery will have a ˜fun' time. We've been told to plan for 8 to 12 weeks recovery initially, with physical therapy starting early Sept. I understand it could take up to 12 months for her shoulder to mend completely. We're optimistic, of course time will tell.

The surgery went well, though I was a bit nervous when it took longer than expected. Following surgery, the doctor showed me pictures of the tare and explained what was done. The pictures are amazing.

She's home now, doing well, and on the road to recovery...

Glad it went well. I assume the doc told you that she shouldn't cook or clean for at least that year. And of course that you should wait on her every whim! Tell her hey, and that I hope she'll heal in record time.

I've not only been told that she's not to cook or clean, I've been told I have to move her arm for her... I'm sure I'll be very busy...

Hi George,
Glad to hear Laraine's surgery went well. I've heard that for this surgery the patient should be waited on for quite some time. George you are up to this, right? LOL
Tell Laraine that we are thinking of her and that we hope she heals quickly.

Best wishes to you and your spouse. Take care of her and follow the Doctor's instructions. My wife had a knee replaced last year and the recovery is slower than she would have liked.

Hey George, Nothing but best wishes and a prayer for a speedy and comfortable recovery for Laraine. I just had a cortisone shot in my right shoulder last week in an attempt to stave off surgery. Keep us posted on her progress. I know you'll be treating her like a queen.

Thanks for your well wishes! Larine is doing well and is well taken care of. As one might expect, she is a little more uncomfortable today, now that all the really 'good' stuff has worn off. Fortunately, I'm able to work from home for a week or two, so will be able to continue helping her for a while.

Thanks all! Laraine continues to improve and fortunately the pain has let up some. Although it's gonna be a long recovery process, I'm thankful she's on the right road...

We are new to the forum here, best wishes to Larraine in her recovery!, The pain will subside slowly as the days pass.

I had right shoulder surgery on 8/14. My rotator cuff wasn't damaged enough to repair, but they did open it up to inspect it, and repaired everything else in the right shoulder, bone spurs etc.

FYI. I rented a medical electric recliner chair. It made it real easy to get up and down out of the chair with one shoulder in a sling. I also slept in it for about a week. Just wanted to pass it on!

Wishing Larraine a speedy recovery also...
