I have posted this under 'Crossroads' but am placing it here also.

Daughter is due any time to have baby,we plan on leaving on the 2nd, but could go any time. We need to get to Groton, CT (east Lyme) off I 95. We will be going via Hwy 81 in TN.
With mapping programs I have come up with 3 choices and my instincts tell me to take the longest.
1: 81 to 78 to 287 to 87 to 95
2: 81 to 84 to 691 to 91 to 95.
3: 81 to 66 to 95= (shortest miles) looks like all city Yuk!
Any local help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks, it is a 17hr trip for us so there is a good chance we will be in that area after rush times. 950 miles door to Aces high rv cg.
I'll bet you are excited about getting you new rv. It sure is a fun way to spend our time (and money )

Colette & Joe,

I'd recommend your #1 81 to 78 to 287 to 87 to 95

When we travel from NH to visit our son living just west of Harrisburg once we get to Hartford we prefer to use what I'll refer to as the lower route (95) vs the upper route (84). We try to work around the rush hours because neither are fun if you hit traffic and/or construction.

Congratulations on your soon to come grandchild. Our daughter is due March 1st. Good news is that she lives next door. Bad news is that it's too close to drive the MH.

Colette and Joe, We are in Gales Ferry, about 15 miles from East Lyme. I would suggest 81 to 84 to 691 to 66 to 9 South to 95 North. This route is fine in your motorhome. We travel it with our 5th wheel and have traveled it with Vetman and his motorhome. When you get to 95 you'll be less than 10 miles from East Lyme. If you need any local info about the area, send me a pm.

Hey, thanks Tom and Carol,
This is just what I was looking for.
Daughter's husband is in school at the submarine base for 6 months, they live on base. They have a 16 month old boy, who I look forward to watching while they are otherwise occupied Our plans get us there on the 4th and we will stay 2 wks. (we will go early if needed).
I am sure from having done this for the first child when they lived in Ottawa,CA, that Joe will spend a lot of time in the coach and will probably get board. And I will do what ever is needed to help. ( so will he, but this is more a girl thing)
I will pm to get in touch when we are there.
We will be able to be on line as the park has WiFi, so we will be checking in often.
Thanks again for the input.

Bob, thanks, Congratulation to you too.
I wondered about the traffic using that route, looks like it skirts around the cities, but very close. We will be very road weary by then.
Looks like we will be overnighting somewhere close to the WV/Pa state line, that will be pushing it for us, and then another day of driving after that.

We live right outside the north end of the sub base. I was stationed there way back in the early 70's. We have one grandson that's almost 3 and we just found out we have another due in October. Our son & DIL live just 6 miles from us so it won't be a long trip unless we're on the road. Get in touch when you're in the area if there is anything we can do to help you out. And tell your son in law that we said THANK YOU.

Tom and Carol,
I just found Gales Ferry on the map, looks like you are about 2 Miles north of the sub-base housing area. I saw on a search a small RV park in that area, only listed with phone #, could only find the koa north of Mystic and Aces that offered 50amp full hook up and wifi.
The reviews on the koa were not very good so chose Aces. Do you know of this park in Gales Ferry and would you chose Aces over Koa?
