Any suggestions on RV or State Parks to stay during 4th of July week? What areas of coastal Maine are the most scenic and interesting? We're from Florida and would appreciate any info on Coastal Maine. Thank you for any info you can give me. Phyllis

Phyliis,
I have to say I loved Acadia Maine. There are numerous campgrounds there. LL Bean and other shops are not to far away either.

Little Ponderosa campground in Booth Bay Harbor, and as NYMoose said Bar Harbor the KOA there seems to be the top choice. They have a free shuttle bus that will take you to all the attractions and town but is not cheep. Anywhere in this area will require Res. well in advance. Vet Man

Phyllis, We always stay the 4th of July at the Searsport family campground in Searsport MA. Just up the road from Balfast, and Camden Maine. It is right on the water and is not overly crowded like most of the maine coast is in summer. I will look for their web site and post it here.

PS: A great place for kids since the have a great tidal beach.

We stayed at Lake pemmaquid campground last year. While its a very rustic campground,it was a great weekend. They rent small motor boats and sell Lobsters(cooked or alive) right in the camp store. All walks of life camp here.Live music.Get a site away from the activities and you will be fine.
