We just got our new fifthwheel. We have 5 golden retrievers and want some suggestions as to how arrange a trip[ and some suggestions as to a campground. We have a 39' foot trailer. we are looking just to do a long weekend to get used to the trailer. We would prefer atleat water and electric, but can boondock if neccessary. We are hiker and you like to stay in NH. Any suggestions as to campgrounds and how to make reservations and when to make resevations. the weekend of 4/4 is the earliest we would consider and any weekend after that is fine. Thanks for you help
Landis

Welcome to iRV2.com I only have one golden so, I've never really looked into whether or not there are dog limits. you might find that there are some campgrounds that don't allow any dogs at all and some that limit you to 1 or 2. As far as campgrounds in NH, there are quite a few to choose from depending on what you need in a campground. With 5 dogs, you might appreciate the size of the sites at Meredith Woods in Meredith. Also, Newfound RV Park has long, pull through sites that might make things easier for you when you are getting used to the new fiver.
Harbor Hill Camp had more than it's fair share of goldens when we were there last summer. It almost seemed like a convention there were so many!!!
To make the reservations, I usually check out the campground's website and see what sites appeal to me and then give them a call. summer weekends are harder to get what you want but spring and fall are pretty easy.
Consider joining us at the Spring or Fall Rally.

Congrats on the new toy...If you're looking to try your camper now, before winter closes in your campground choices will be limited as most NH campgrounds will have closed down the middle to end of October and those that are still open may only offer limited services. Friends have run into problems finding campgrounds with just 3 dogs but 2 of the dogs are on one of those lists so boondocking may be a pretty good option. We used to visit our kids in Conway this time of year but the town has passed a no overnight parking law that closes off Wal-Marts etc... Good luck and enjoy!!!

Welcome to IRV2 and the Noreasters. You may have a problem with 5 dogs, many campgrounds only allow only 2. Breed wise you will not have a problem. There are many sites that people give reviews of campsites, I usually use a book (Good Sam Trailer life/Woodalls) then use the site to see what everyday people say RV Park Reviews. If you have further questions dont hesitate to e-mail me, I had a Fifth wheel before I got my MH, and really enjoyeed it.

To; Landis-Rogers,

You may want to look into ;

Friendly Beaver Campground in New Boston, NH, 603-487-5570.

They are open year round, have an in-door heated pool.

I don't know about dogs.

We have stayed there for 10-14 days for the past 5 years.

Hope this info helps- www.friendlybeaver.com
