My wife and I are considering purchasing a fifthwheel. Are primary use would be for weekend trips and summer vacation. One of our motivating factors is we like to take our dogs with us and this seems like the easiest way. One requirement is to beable to use the trailer over the winter. We are considering Excel, Escalade and Hitchhiker Champange. My two main questions are.

1) are there enough camp grounnds in NE that allow dogs to make this a realistic plan?

2)Comments on the trailers we are considering.

3)Any other advice you think would be helpful.

Thanks
Landis

Landis... I don't have all the answers but, I thought I might start you off.

1. I haven't been to a campground yet that didn't allow dogs. You should not have a problem. I think there maybe one campground on the cape but, since I have a dog, I haven't been there!

2. Sorry. I don't know anything about those trailers.

3. I'd have to know more about your situations to comment. My advice would be to do a lot of research and know what you are getting into when you get into it!!!

What kind of dog do you have? In NY there are several breeds that can't be brought into many campgrounds. The usual suspects are: pit bulls, rottweilers, wolf hybrids, huskies, Dalmatians, Airedales, and Great Danes.

We have 5 golden retreivers. They are every friendly and well behaved. So I don't think anyone would have a problem. Based on floor plans we have narrowed down our search to a excel 36rdo. Commments on that model?
